MEET OUR STAFF

Rick Swick
President

Rick has been involved in corporate aviation since he graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1979. He has over 12,000 accident / incident free hours in the air, including 9,000 hours as Pilot in Command. He has several jet type ratings and has been to school for and flown nearly every corporate turbo-prop ever manufactured. During the 24 years in the aviation business prior to going in business for himself, Rick had held positions such as Chief pilot of corporate flight operations, Director of Charter operations / sales and has consulted several corporations in regards to setting up their flight departments, hiring crews and purchasing the aircraft that meets their mission profile most efficiently. With the desire to spend more time with his 7 children and avoid being on the road on a daily basis, Rick chose to go into the aircraft sales business full time and formed R.A. Swick and Assoc., Inc. in 1994. R.A. Swick and Assoc., Inc. has maintained many long term client relationships which Rick credits with the fact that he has an excellent research team and stays personally involved in each and every transaction, before, during and after every sale.

Nancy Swick

Vice President / Secretary

Nancy has been married to Rick for 29 years and is the mother of their 7 children. Spending much of her life traveling in private aircraft and working at Rick’s side, Nancy has naturally learned a lot about the aviation industry. Although Nancy has always been involved in the business, she joined the team full time when their youngest daughter started school in 2001. Nancy is in charge of managing the office and handling special projects, such as modification pricing, maintenance quotes, etc.

Laura Heidtman

Research / Sales

Laura has an extensive background in sales and joined R.A. Swick and Assoc., Inc. in 1999 as head of the research department. Armed with extensive worldwide data bases, which are updated daily, Laura spends her day comparing data on every aircraft for sale on a world wide basis so that we can provide our customers with accurate information regarding aircraft history, current market conditions, number of aircraft for sale, monthly activity, pricing, etc. Research is one of the most important aspects of our success and Laura has been a real asset.

Aaron Swick

Research / Sales

Aaron is Rick and Nancy’s oldest son and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. Aaron is continually working on advancing his flight ratings. Growing up around the aviation business, Aaron was able to log hundreds of hours flying in sophisticated aircraft with his Dad, so he says the hardest thing about learning to fly a Cessna was preparing for the written test while taking 16 credit hours at the University. Aaron has been working in the office part time assisting Nancy and Laura for 2 years. Due to his love of aviation, Aaron has now joined the company full time and works with Laura in research and sales.

Erik Chappell

Legal / Contracts

Erik has been working as the Company’s legal consultant since it was founded in 1994. Erik is an experienced contract attorney and has been involved in the aviation industry for many years. Erik has extensive knowledge of how aircraft deals are structured, including working with Escrow / Title companies, pre-purchase inspections, closings and 1031 exchanges. Erik’s primary concern is that all parties in a particular transaction are protected and fully understand the terms of the sales agreements.
